Happiness joined Legacy Estate Planning, PLLC (Estate Planning and Elder Law) in 2016 and is very excited to continue working with the elderly and their families in the Elder Law capacity. She helps clients to efficiently manage and complete the Medicaid and VA applications. She also helps in document drafting, assisting the attorney to complete trusts, wills, powers of attorney medical directives and living wills. She has the experience, knowledge and sincere desire to listen, support and guide the elderly with their needs.
With more than 25 years of experience working in the health care industry, Happiness offers our clients and their families the support to navigate the challenging circumstances of aging and health care. During the management of her home care provider business of 15 years, she contracted with state and local government for 13 years to provide skilled and personal care services to the elderly, children and special needs. She also served on the community Long Term Care board and was a member of state personal care association that advocates for and supports the healthcare business.
Happiness understands the difficulty of caring for aging loved ones and the challenges of finding and keeping professional caregivers. Having also supervised nearly 130 employees, she established a licensed nurse aide training where she was able to deliver quality caregivers.
She earned her Bachelor of Science at Strayer University and her Master of Science in Business Administration in 2001 with concentration in Computer Information System; and pursued certification in Health Information Technology from a local community college. She later received a certificate in Elder Care Coordination at Stockton University, New Jersey in cooperation with Life Care Planning, Law Firm Association (LCPLFA).
Happiness takes her role as Elder Care Coordinator at the law firm very seriously. She said it is the fulfilment of a voice she once heard at meditation “I will do a new thing; and you will see it.”
